Two things to reportAlice sent word that any boxes from now on going to EBAC should have Humanitarian Aid written on them This should eleminate them having to pay duty for now which is a terrible expense for them The UN is involved in this decision. So, from now on, if you send a box remember to send MFI $1.50 per pound to ship it from FL and write Humanitarian aid on it. ThanksKaren Davis had MFI airport duty yesterday which makes for a busy day. They were called to go to inspect container #2 That really made for confusion but is the last step before it can be released. So, your prayers have been answered. They got some of the bigger boxes off that container yesterday and took them home,Then after dark a truck that was supposed to arrive today brought the first contaner. So sorting and unloading and preparation to get the contents out was done. They should receive the second trailer container today. MFI also brought in emergency food supplies on their flight. GOD supplies the need just when it gets to that point. That one container was in Haiti BEFORE Christmas!!!! Saved for now when the people can’t get anything. Pray they all see how marvelous God is and come to know Christ as Savior and Lord. Pray for GOD’s joy and encouragement for the people working in Haiti. MFI has flown in over 60 planes taking in things and bringing out people and orphans. That has to be very taxing on them physically. Keep praying for all the physical and financial expenses they and all the missionaries have at this time. Haitian national Christians are joining them all in standing in the gap. When I see the chaos outsiders have made in Port and I hear how well things are proceeding in Cap, I see how GOD is working and thank Him. As long as things proceed as they are our ‘family’ is safe. Pray it continues to be so.

UPDATE From Haiti
Jan 18
Last night we received an email from Alice and Kathy. They are praising GOD for a miracle that the EBAC family has seen, the protecting hand of GOD. The older orphans in Port each came “home” with a story of survival while thousands went into eternity within 7 seconds. Don and Karen tell of local Christian who live hand to mouth daily suddenly having a dozen more people in their homes to feed as the rapid exodus to the north has begun. MFI is flying passengers and supplies in daily. Rick Hendricks of NASCAR fame loaned his two private planes and crews, and they are flying five planes in and out today.
First Update

We all know the situation in Port – au-Prince, Haiti is dire. We have been in contact with several missionaries in the country. The rest of Haiti is preparing for an influx of refugees from the capitol. Our CBC missionaries , Alice Wise of McClellandtown and Kathy Gouker of Dunbar live at the EBAC orphanage outside Cap Hatien. Word is that all the orphans are safe, although some have relatively minor injuries. Although the major damages are in the south, the whole country was violently rocked. There are damages all over. Some know of loved ones dead or still missing. People all over are grieving and in shock, including our Christain family. Pastor Cebien Alexis was en route to the US the day the quake struck. He is safe. He is unable to get word on all his churches and pastors. Communication in Haiti is down so things must travel by word of mouth. How can you help? There are two containers of food and supplies being readied to go into the north. It will take a while to get there. Don and Karen have a container waiting to be released from customs. Pray they get it without duty. It seems to have been held for now, as it arrived before Christmas. Yes, that is where the survivors are going to seek help. The missionaries will soon be providing food, clothing shelter and water to many. Alrady a bus load has arrived from Port to Morne Rouge and are at Don and Karen’s. The older orphans from Port went ‘home’, where they grew up. Right now, we will utilize our connections within the existing system to get necessary supplies into the hands of the people who are experienced and on the ground in Haiti.
